Torah Academy was founded in 1982 by the Bostoner Rebbe and a group of observant Jewish parents. Together they created a school that provides a strong traditional religious education and an outstanding general academic curriculum for their children.

Torah Academy’s goals are:
*    To instill a love for Jewish learning and
    tradition and, through Jewish textual
    study, to teach young people to live by
    Jewish law and the moral and ethical
    values of Torah.
*    To prepare observant Jewish students
    for success in the secular world
    through a challenging, high-quality
    program in general academic subjects.

Torah Academy pursues these goals through individualized attention that allows each child’s strengths to blossom.  The school’s friendly, encouraging environment gently fosters excellence and a commitment to community service. Torah Academy’s combined Jewish and general studies programs promote scholastic achievement, self-confidence and strength of character, encouraging students to develop a passion for learning and to look beyond themselves toward life’s larger goals.  Torah Academy also models that community focus by publishing a guide to resources in the Greater Boston Jewish community.

Highlights of our educational program:
*   An extensive middle school science
     and math curriculum that includes
     applied mathematics and challenging
     experiments and research;
*   An English and U.S. history curriculum
     that emphasizes communication skills,
     literary analysis and group research;
*   In-depth study of Biblical and Talmudic
     texts emphasizing ethical and moral
     development;
*   Extended day program activities such
     as art, choir, recreation and tutoring;
*   A service learning program that
     includes visits to residents of elderly
     housing and nursing homes;
     assistance to bereaved individuals
     and families, and volunteering for
     Jewish community organizations such
     as Yad Hesed, which collects and
     distributes food for the hungry, and
     Project Rofeh, which provides services
     for families dealing  with serious
     medical crises.

T
he nurturing atmosphere of Torah Academy offers love, respect and educational stimulation to our students. It is the goal of the Yeshivah to send our student body off into life with a deep-rooted sense of purpose, self-identity and pride in their religious heritage.
